Angie Calle
Former Director of Curriculum Development
2020-2021 Angie Calle is our Director of Educational Development. She is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry Education at CUNY Queens College. Previous experience includes math and science tutoring for SASF (the Sports & Arts in School Foundation) at Flushing High School (2017-2018) and proctoring practice Regents exams. Angie has also been a part of the HSI-STEM Team as a General Chemistry peer mentor (2017-2020) and is currently a Technology Mentor for CTL (the Center for Teaching and Learning) at Queens College assisting with the transition to online learning during COVID-19.
Angie has been involved with the annual Hayden Show at Queens College since 2017. She enjoys performing experiments for high school students and has also helped facilitate at the Hayden Show. Representing the HSI-STEM team, she presented her research poster “First Semester Inquiry-based Chemistry Laboratory” at the 67th ACS Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium (2019). A future high school teacher, Angie continues to hone her teaching craft with practice and enrichment. She believes that there is always something new to learn. In her down time, Angie loves to run. She has run track for both the William Cullen Bryant High School and Queens College teams. She has volunteered for the QC Spring and Summer Camp for kids and has participated in fundraisers for breast cancer research. She champions the connection between physical health and mental acuity. |
